Definition of Content Editing

Your content editor will review and make suggestions for changes, checking for twenty-one functions of good writing.

Title

Tensions and Buildups

Dénouement
Primary Characters Bright and Dark Moments   Seams
Secondary Characters Plants Theme
Point of View Conflict Style/Appropriateness
  Dialogue  Plot Readability/Word Choice
Hooks Scenes Pacing
Backfill Climax Freshness

The purpose is to ensure a seamless text that makes sense to the reader, develops properly. Content editing does NOT include a check for grammar, punctuation or format. That is a function of copy editing. In the content editing process, suggestions for changes will appear in the margins of your manuscript. With the click of a button, you decide whether to accept or reject the suggestion. You remain in total control of your final draft.

Content editing is the first part of the editing process. Once the manuscript has been fine-tuned, it goes into the copy editing process which checks for spelling, grammar, punctuation, tense etc. When the editing is complete the project is ready for layout.

We offer editing as part of the full publishing package, or as a stand-alone service
